zapRF currently supports PA design flows in Keysight ADS with WIN PDKs. It is well suited for multistage and power-combined power amplifiers, including load-pull and source-pull aware workflows. If you are interested in other PDKs, contact us directly.

zapRF creates or updates ADS workspaces and generates an initial schematic plus simulation setup. It also supports iterative refinement, so you can keep improving the design through follow-up prompts and engineering feedback.

What do I need to run zapRF?

You'll need a Windows machine, a valid Keysight ADS license, access to the relevant WIN PDK, and the zapRF installer. You'll also need to configure the zapRF MCP server in your preferred agent environment before starting your first design session.

How do I get started with my first design?

Install the zapRF Windows .exe, connect it to your preferred agent by starting the zapRF MCP server, then create your zapRF dashboard account and log in. Once connected, start a design request with key specs such as center frequency, bandwidth, gain, output power, PAE, and the PDK path. zapRF can work from an existing ADS workspace or create a new zapRF and ADS workspace for you. If some specs are missing, it can ask follow-up questions before generating the design. For each new PDK/workspace combination, there is a one-time setup step where you should verify the min/max bounds of component parameters before proceeding. Example prompt: Design a power amplifier at 28 GHz with 2 GHz bandwidth, 20 dB gain, 30 dBm output power, and 35% PAE using this WIN PDK path. Create a new zapRF workspace and a new ADS workspace, and ask me any missing spec questions before starting.

Is zapRF a signoff tool, and does my design IP stay local?

zapRF is designed to accelerate early schematic generation, not replace expert review or final signoff. Your design IP stays in your local environment and does not leave the customer setup.
